First time visitors are typically surprised by their warm, enthusiastic welcome. We are a grace filled, child friendly congregation, open and eager to welcome visitors and new members. Our worship embraces many musical styles while supporting a traditional sense of “Lutheran.” We practice an open communion fellowship. All who are baptized, regardless of denomination, are welcome at the Lord’s Supper. We offer three weekend services at 5 PM on Saturday and 8:30 and 11 AM on Sunday. We do not have a dress code and seek to be welcoming to all people!
The pastors are encouraged to be ministers to the community and to share their gifts for ministry freely with our neighbors. The congregation supports many global ministries from Guatemala to Tanzania to Sudan to young adults doing global mission. We support local ministries that feed the hungry, support urban children, and provide support for the many ecumenical ministries that care for our neighbors.
We provide a traditional Sunday School program for all age groups, a week of Vacation Bible School for children each June, considerable scholarship support for those who seek to attend a week of summer camp at our local Lutheran camps, a busy youth group program for young adults in grades 6-12, many musical opportunities from a traditional Adult Choir and Hand Bell Choir to our Praise Band and Women’s Ensemble to opportunities for our children to sing and contribute musically. We enjoy an extensive number of fellowship opportunities from pasta dinners to a church picnic to pork and sauerkraut in October and January.
We support a Cub Pack and Boy Scout Troop, open our building to Senior Volleyball players during weekday mornings, varied basketball groups that use our court, a Church Dartball Team and many other groups from the neighborhood who need space.
The best way to get to know us is to come and visit. We are easy to find at the intersection of Linglestown Road and N. Fargreen Road in Susquehanna Township! We’d love to meet you!
